Ready 1 cup sifted flour
Ready 1/2 tsp salt
Ready 1/3 cup shortening, PLUS 1tbsp extra if hydrogenated vegetable shortening
Ready 1 sheet of wax paper with flour on it

# Slice 1/2" sections, place wide-side down onto cookie sheets
# Bake at 400 degrees for about 8 minutes or until browned
